Cardinal Points (2026 Remaster)

▶ PLAY
side one

Mute and Threshold House begin a series of early, often overlooked Coil records with Gold Is the Metal (With the Broadest Shoulders), out today remastered — the close of the trilogy that began with Scatology and Horse Rotorvator, made from music set aside while Horse Rotorvator was sequenced. John Balance, Peter ‘Sleazy’ Christopherson and Stephen Thrower; Thrower calls it the culmination of a magnum opus. The visualiser for Cardinal Points reworks footage René van der Eijk shot for Alexander Oey’s Sound of Progress in 1988.
